Field Guide

Terms of Service

Last updated 23 October 2026

These terms cover the Field Guide website, the map, quests and guides, account features, and the Field Guide connector for ChatGPT and similar clients. They are issued by GLXY Technologies, Inc. Company details are in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptance

You accept these terms by using Field Guide, creating an account, or connecting a client such as ChatGPT. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You need to be old enough to agree to a contract for an online service where you live. Field Guide is not directed at children. See the Privacy Policy for the age note.

The service

Field Guide is a place-based guide. It includes maps, written guides, quests, check-in, Look, and Sit, a You page for progress, notes and photos you save, digital collectibles tied to an account, and connectors such as ChatGPT.

Guides describe real places. They are not a promise that a venue is open, safe, or unchanged. Quest rewards and collectibles are part of the experience. They are not cash, and they are not a promise of a market price.

Field Guide does not offer investment, staking, or trading. Do not read these terms as financial-service terms.

Accounts

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us if you believe someone else is using the account.

Connecting ChatGPT, or another client, lets that client call Field Guide tools as you, until you disconnect it or the token ends. You can disconnect it in the client. Website sign-in does not, by itself, connect or disconnect ChatGPT.

Acceptable use

Do not:

Location and safety

You are responsible for how you travel. Obey local law. Respect private property. Do not enter a dangerous place because a pin is nearby. A pin, a route line, or a chat reply is not advice that a path is safe.

Location check-in requires a real fix inside the pin’s radius, with accuracy at least as tight as that radius. You cannot complete that check-in by typing an address in chat. Field Guide will reject a fix that fails those checks.

Your content

You keep ownership of notes, photos, and other material you submit. You give Field Guide permission to host that material, show it back to you, and return the fields a tool is built to return when you ask a connected client to save or read it.

That permission is only for running Field Guide. It is not a sale of your content. Do not submit something you have no right to share. Do not submit passwords, private keys, recovery phrases, or someone else’s private data.

We can refuse or remove content that breaks these terms, or that we are required to remove. Publishing a quest to the public map is a separate step and needs an explicit yes. A draft is not a public listing.

Collectibles and chains

Some experiences refer to digital collectibles or NFTs recorded with an account and, when minted, on a public chain such as Solana. Chain rules are the network’s rules, not ours. A transaction that is later offered can cost a network fee, can fail, and can be irreversible. Field Guide does not guarantee that a collectible has a buyer, a price, or any financial value.

Public chain data can be read by anyone. We cannot delete it. Read the wallet section of the Privacy Policy before you connect an account that holds anything you care about.

Wallets

The ChatGPT wallet tool is an inspector. It can return an address, a native balance, and collectible metadata. It cannot transfer, swap, or sign, and it does not return private keys or recovery phrases.

Creating a wallet from the You page, where that control is available, creates an account wallet through the account service. It is not a transfer, and it is not available as a send action in ChatGPT. If a later version can move funds, these terms and the plugin listing will say so before that behaviour is part of the connector. They do not say so today.

Key handling depends on the account. Some wallets are created on the service. Some can use a key you hold. These terms do not promise that every wallet is non-custodial.

Other services

ChatGPT is operated by OpenAI. Claude and other clients you connect are operated by their own providers. Maps load tiles from CARTO through Field Guide. Sign-in can involve Google when you choose that option. Membership checkout, if it is switched on outside the ChatGPT plugin, uses Stripe. Each of those services has its own terms. Field Guide does not control OpenAI’s handling of text you type into ChatGPT.

The current plugin submission does not sell products inside ChatGPT.

Intellectual property

Field Guide’s name, mark, wordmark, software, and original guide writing are owned by their rights holders. You may not copy the brand or the software except as these terms and the law allow. Place names, venue material, and third-party listings remain those parties’ property. A guide that quotes or points at a place does not transfer that place’s rights to you.

Availability and changes

Features can change, pause, or stop. The map, the connector, and sign-in can fail or be interrupted. We do not promise uninterrupted service, a particular pin, or that a quest stays available.

Suspension and ending access

We can suspend or close an account, or revoke a connector token, if you break these terms, if we need to stop abuse or fraud, or if the law requires it. Where we can, we will tell you the reason and how to reply, using the email on the account or the privacy contact. We can act first when delay would let abuse continue.

You can stop using Field Guide at any time and disconnect clients you connected. Account deletion is requested by email, as the Privacy Policy describes. There is no in-product delete button today.

Disclaimers and liability

Field Guide is a guide and a set of tools. It is not emergency help, a guarantee of a route, or a financial service. Maps, hours, and pins can be wrong. You decide whether to go.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any right the law of your country does not allow us to exclude. That includes consumer rights where they apply.

Subject to that, Field Guide is not liable for lost profits, lost tokens, or other indirect loss from use of the service. Liability that remains is limited to the amount you paid Field Guide for the service in the three months before the claim. If you paid nothing, that limit is nothing. This cap does not apply where the law forbids a cap.

Governing law

These terms are issued by GLXY Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation. They do not choose the law or the court that will hear a dispute. Mandatory law where you live still applies, including consumer protections that cannot be waived.
